Another successful week for the club at Tweed Heads saw over 60 bowlers compete over 4 days. Numbers were down a bit with numerous pullouts in the week or so before the start as well as during the carnival due to illness and injury – we would have given the Wallabies a run for the number of players on the injured list!!
Congratulations to all the winners and runners up in each event however as we all know it’s the coming together of mates and family, remembering members past and present that makes these events so enjoyable.
The final day Friday was our Triples event and charity day for 3 charities this year – Red Cross, Red Kite and The Heart Foundation – a sea of red colour combined with some entertaining ” cowboys/cowgirls and indians ” costumes all of which ultimately raised well over $2200 and which the club has topped up to $1000 for each charity.

Congratulations to our recognised bowlers for the week Billy Ahoy and Daryl Denman who have been with us for 15 years – you’ve done Armidale and Dunedoo proud! Also congrats to our Parko Award winner Steve Gilchrist who did his pewter proud while still on the hunt for that elusive finals victory!
